YOU MUST KNOW

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
(II Peter 1:2‭-‬3).

A friend shared how embarrassing her first experience on the plane was, when she turned down an offer to be served food and drinks. She said she was afraid she would have to pay for it like we do during bus stops on long journeys. And yet she didn’t carry extra money.

Child of God, everything you need and ever will (in this life and the one to come) has already been provided. But you must know it. God has not left wandering in the dark nor has He hidden anything from us. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32).

His perfect will, promises, plans and purpose for our lives are all revealed in His written Word. Our knowledge of this will save us the trouble we go through worrying, guessing, trying and failing. Does this mean we will not suffer from anything negative? Certainly not! When that happens, we know that all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28).

The sad reality however, is that some people may never get to know what belongs to them, owing to their ignorance of the Word. God in Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Those times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30).

Keeping a Bible closer to your head when you sleep may not guard you from the attack of the enemy, but reading and understanding it will surely keep you from his lies.
Remember it is not just the truth but rather knowledge of the truth that will set you free, as you give yourself to the study of God’s word and continue in it. (See John 8:31-32).

This experiential and revelational knowledge is available for us all. The Holy Spirit in you will guide you into all truth. You won’t need to say, “so and so said”. You will quote and speak from an abundance stored up in you.

God’s Word will renew your mind and transform you from the inside-out. You will be empowered to believe, to do, to live and to speak right. With this you can command your destiny.

Beloved, this is your story. Now get to work. Get that Bible off your shelf, dust it off and read it like your life depends on it, because it does.
